There is a growing demand from investors to support the transition to a low-carbon economy while remaining aligned with their investment goals across all asset-classes.

Commodities is an asset class with its own unique challenges from a climate perspective. During the seminar we will discuss the various dilemmas when implementing a climate strategy.

Attendees will hear perspectives from Bloomberg’s Index Solutions research, Invesco and Royal London Asset Management. This deep dive into three unique viewpoints of the Asset owner, Asset Manager and Index Provider world, should be an exciting opportunity for any investor. Bloomberg and Invesco will discuss how climate considerations impact commodity exposures and portfolio risk/return characteristics before a fireside chat with Trevor Greetham about incorporating commodities into asset allocation.

Kartik Ghia is the Co-Head of Systematic Strategies Research at Bloomberg. He has both written extensively on factor investing and developed risk premia strategies and portfolios across the asset class spectrum. Prior to Bloomberg, he worked at Barclays and JPMorgan and received his Ph.D. in Statistics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and his MPhil & MA from the University of Oxford.

Paul is Head of EMEA ETF Fixed Income & Commodity Product Management at Invesco.  He has a wealth of experience gained through a career spanning more than 20 years in leading asset management companies. Prior to joining Invesco, Paul worked at Hermes Investment Management (now Federated Hermes) for a decade where he was a portfolio manager responsible for over £9bn in UK and global government and inflation-linked bonds. He started his career at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (now Abrdn) where his main responsibility was managing global rates portfolios. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Genetics from the University of Nottingham and has been a CFA charterholder since 2004.

As the Global Head of Asset Allocation Research at Invesco, Paul provides commentary on macro-economic events and analysis on how they impact capital markets. Prior to joining Invesco, Paul worked at Société Générale in both Paris and London, holding positions as Macro Specialist Sales, Equity Strategist and Head of Research, during which time he wrote under “The Belgian Dentist” label. He started his career at Morgan Stanley in London where he worked in Corporate Finance and Equity Research before transferring to New York where he joined Morgan Stanley Asset Management as portfolio manager. He holds a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Master of Philosophy in Economics from Oxford.

Trevor Greetham is an investment strategist and fund manager with 24 years of experience. Prior to joining Royal London in 2015, Trevor was Asset Allocation Director for Fidelity Worldwide Investment, where he was responsible for implementing tactical investment decisions across a wide range of institutional and retail funds. From 1995 to 2005, Trevor was Director of Asset Allocation for Merrill Lynch, advising fund manager clients on their multi asset investment strategy. Trevor qualified as an actuary with UK life assurer Provident Mutual and has a Master of Arts in Mathematics from Cambridge University.

Hamid Asseffar is head of Asset Managers, UK and leading climate finance initiatives at Invesco. He joined from Amundi and brings his expertise and experience in conceptualizing innovative products and solutions such as blended finance, raising capital, building strategic partnerships, designing, and implementing distribution strategies.  Prior to Amundi, Hamid also worked for Société Générale Gestion in Paris and Credit Suisse in London. Hamid graduated from EDHEC Business School and holds the CFA ESG certificate and he is Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) with a diploma from the Society of Technical Analysts (STA).
