President Obama will call for a yearlong extension of tax cuts on annual earnings of less than $250K, staking out his position as House Republicans prepare to vote on extending all Bush-era tax cuts expiring this year, Bloomberg News reported.
Congress is also seeking to capture the attention of voters this week. House Republicans will work on a measure that would repeal the 2010 health care overhaul following the Supreme Court decision that the law is constitutional. The Senate may spend the week on a small business tax-break bill.
And speaking of the judiciary branch, a three-judge panel in Washington starts a trial today on whether to allow a Texas law to take effect that requires voters to show government-issued photo identification at polls.
