A little boy leans over to kiss President Barack Obama during the Congressional picnic on the South Lawn of the White House on June 27, 2012.
He is commander-in-chief, head of the executive branch and an occasional media critic.
But now a four-year old has given President Barack Obama an entirely new job description: Message approver.
It turns out that some Obama donors have a hard time explaining to their children just what the president does, as Obama recounted at a Wall Street fundraiser last night.
The president told the story of a young couple who asked their “adorable four-year-old son.”
“They said, `Sammy, who’s that?’ And he said, `That’s Barack Obama,”’ as the president retold the tale.
“`And what does Barack Obama do?’ And the boy thinks for a second, and he says, `He approves this message.”’
“So that’s what I do,” Obama told his Manhattan audience. “I approve this message.”
