The crowd at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, took the cue.
Before winding into his standard campaign speech, President Barack Obama took note of an upcoming event.
“It’s true that I’m going to be — what am I going to be –I’m going to be 51 on Saturday,” Obama said to cheers and applause.
“Michelle says I look 50. So, that’s not bad.”
The crowd began singing Happy Birthday.
While he didn’t have a cake and candles, there was no surprise to what Obama’s birthday wish would be.
“I would have made a wish that probably would have had to do with electoral votes,” Obama said. “Winning Florida wouldn’t be a bad birthday present.”
