With the last presidential debate tomorrow, Mitt Romney attended Mormon services this morning in Boca Raton, Florida. Few would blame him for saying a quick prayer for his own performance against President Barack Obama.Romney, the first Mormon to clinch the presidential nomination of a major U.S. political party, routinely attends services wherever he is on Sundays. He was joined today by his wife, Ann, as well as Spencer Zwick, his national finance chairman.
The opening and closing hymns had titles that could apply to Romney’s bid for the presidency. The service started with “Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel” and ended with “Choose the Right.”
As Romney was seated in church, news came of a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News national poll that showed him tied with the incumbent president. The remainder of the Republican nominee’s day was to be spent primarily on debate preparation at a hotel in Delray Beach, Florida.
