Party central in D.C. tonight.

Win, lose or take it to the Supreme Court, it’s Election Day in Washington.

After casting their ballots, citizens around the nation’s capital face another tough decision with far-reaching implications: Which poll watching party to attend?

While President Barack Obama will view the election results in Chicago and Republican challenger Mitt Romney winds up his campaign in Boston after quick stops today in Cleveland and Pittsburgh, Washingtonians decked out in blue or red — or purple for the adventurous independent — will gather around televisions all across the city to cheer or console.

Among the formal events being staged this evening:

*Cheeky Sasso Entertainment & Marketing Group, the Madyun Group, Washington Informer, Congressional Black Associates, the Thursday Network and Capital Cause hold a “Decision Day Watch of Obama vs. Romney.” Capitale, 1301 K St. NW, starting at 6 p.m.

*Center Forward, a bipartians policy group focused on balancing the budge tand curbing the debt. hosts a results watch party at Hill Country Barbecue Market, 410 Seventh Street NW., also starting at 6 p.m.

*The National Press Club hosts a 2012 Election Night Watch Party, 14th and F Streets NW, First Amendment Lounge, 6:30 p.m.

*THe Woman’s National Democratic Club holds a 2012 Election Watch Party. 1526 New Hampshire Avenue NW, 7 p.m.

*George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management “Elections 2012″ class holds an election night viewing party at Tonic Restaurant, 2036 G Street NW, Top Floor, 7 p.m.

*George Washington University College Democrats and College Republicans hold a joint election night viewing party. 800 21st Street NW, Marvin Center, Continental Ballroom and Grand Ballroom, Third Floor, 7 p.m.

*The Republican National Committee holds an election night event at (where else?) the Ronald Reagan Building, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Atrium, 7 p.m.

*The American University School of International Service holds an election night watch event for students, faculty, alumni, diplomats and the surrounding community. AU SIS, intersection of New Mexico and Nebraska Avenues NW, 7:30 p.m.

*Politico and Microsoft’s BING host an Election Night 2012 Celebration at the Newseum, 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, 7:30 p.m.

*University of Maryland’s School of Behavioral and Social Sciences and the Dean’s Student Advisory Council host an Election Night Watch party with faculty present to lead panel discussions and answer questions. UMD, Riggs Alumni Center’s Orem Hall, College Park, Md. 8 p.m.
