As we waited past dark, on this day after Election Day, for word about the absentee ballot-count that has prevented anyone from officially calling the 2012 presidential contest in Florida, we were taken with a certain URL.

There was no clarity at this hour, leaving, as the Miami Herald put it, a “much-mocked” hole in the national electoral map.
