Bloomberg by the Numbers: $17.2 Billion

That’s the net income in 2012 for Fannie Mae, the government-sponsored enterprise that buys mortgages from lenders and packages them into securities. It had profits of $7.6 billion in the three-month period ended Dec. 31.
