Bloomberg by the Numbers: $50 Billion

That’s the cutoff in personal net worth that distinguishes the top-five richest people in the world from the rest of the richest, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

The top five are led by Bill Gates, chairman and co-founder of Microsoft, at more than $70 billion.

He is followed by Carlos Slim Helu, chairman emeritus of Tefonos de Mexico, at about $66 billion, Warren Buffett, chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, at $59 billion, Amancio Ortega Gaona, founder of Zara Epana and Industria de Diseno Textil, at more than $55 billion, and Ingvar Kamprad, chairman and founder of Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd, at more than $50 billion.
