Christy Walton, the world’s richest woman, has a house for sale.
Walton, widow of John T. Walton, second son of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton, inherited a 12.2 percent stake in the world’s biggest retailer and largest private employer in the U.S. and other assets that make her worth an estimated $37.4 billion, making her the ninth-richest person in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Walton has listed her six-bedroom, 8,600 square-foot Wyoming home, which comes with a century-old cabin, for $12.5 million.
That may sound like a lot, but it’s less than one-tenth the initial asking price of the nation’s highest listing, the $135-million Crespi-Hicks estate in Dallas.
For the record, Walton’s Facebook page lists her as a “public figure.”
