In the event anyone views the relationship between Presidents Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin as frosty, check out Putin crossing paths with British Prime Minister David Cameron on the way to the D-Day anniversary.
Putin and Cameron met today at Paris’s Charles de Gaulle Airport, the Russian outlet RT.com reports.
“However, it became clear from the start that despite celebrations, the D-Day meetings are doomed to be overshadowed by tensions over the situation in Ukraine,” RT notes. “According to Itar-Tass, the leaders started their meeting `without a traditional handshake.’
“Despite the cold start, the talks went on according to etiquette, with Putin and Cameron shaking hands `not on camera,’ Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
Peskov said: “In the course of conversation between Putin and Cameron different issues of the bilateral relations were discussed, including the topic of revitalizing the Russian-British dialogue, which is currently in a frozen state.”
