Candidates running for Congress in the 2014 election raised $850.2 million in the 15-month period ended March 31.

The FEC analysis also details independent expenditures that super-PACs, PACs, party organizations and people make to expressly advocate for the election or defeat of a clearly identified candidate.

Super-PACs, officially known as “independent expenditure-only committees,” may raise funds in unlimited amounts. Candidates for Congress have until midnight tomorrow to file campaign finance reports updated to include donors and spending through June 30.
