It looks like Gov. Chris Christie hasn’t found his summer action star in Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson after all.

The second-term Republican governor of New Jersey yesterday afternoon put out a 90-second video dubbed “No Pain, No Gain” previewing a summer push for pension cuts.

The film was taken down at Johnson’s behest. Cut in with Christie’s ominous warnings were clips of the WWE wrestler-turned-action star.

One problem: thinking its tongue was firmly in cheek, Christie’s administration neglected to secure needed permissions.

They reprised the video, sans Rock.

Christie, speaking today at CNBC’s Delivering Alpha conference, said he’s in no rush to make a decision on a potential 2016 White House bid. Christie, who’s spending time in Iowa and New Hampshire this month as chairman of the Republican Governors Association, said he has “a pretty busy day job.”
