Obama’s Lollapalooza — (Malia, 16)

President Barack Obama may have been pre-celebrating today’s birthday over the weekend with some weekend golf with old friends from Chicago and a stay at Camp David, but daughter Malia was seen havving a Lollapalooza of a time in Chicago.

NBC 5 TV in Chicago reported several Malia-sightings at the Chicago music festival as Chance the Rapper took the stage Sunday,

Malia Obama also had been spotted at @lordemusic’s performance earlier in the festival.

The president spent his weekend playing golf at Andrews Air Force Base on Saturday and then overnight at Camp David in Maryland’s Catoctin Mountains. This wasn’t first time his first-born daughter, 16 now (and born on the Fourth of July) had struck out for the territory.

As the AP notes:

“Malia barely reached up to her father’s shoulders when they moved to the White House nearly six years ago with her mother, little sister and grandmother. At 16, she stands nearly as tall as her 6-foot-1 dad and is visiting college campuses in preparation for that bittersweet day in the fall of 2016 when she trades her White House bedroom for a dorm.

“She has been seen touring the University of California at Berkeley and the Palo Alto, California, campus of Stanford, where another president’s daughter, Chelsea Clinton, attended college.

“In a commencement address to high school graduates in Worcester, Massachusetts, Obama said he’s practicing for what’s coming in two years. “So I’m trying to get used to not choking up and crying and embarrassing her. So this is sort of my trial run here.”’

The president’s permanent campaign was inviting e-notes for the president, 53 today, at the White House.

The Republican Party has its own suggested gift.

This also happens to be the birthday of the Coast Guard.
