Like ‘Office Space’? You Might be Facebook User Interested in Romney

It’s safe to say that the politics of those searching Facebook for President Barack Obama likely differ from those looking up Republican challenger Mitt Romney. That difference also extends to preferences in TV, music and movies, according to a new infographic by Optimal, an analytics company.

Users searching for the president are more likely to prefer the movies “Back to the Future” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” while those searching for Romney prefer “Office Space” and “Pride & Prejudice,” according to Optimal, which is based in San Francisco. As for television, Obama searchers liked “NCIS: Los Angeles” and Romney folks went for “Degrassi: The Next Generation.”

Optimal came up with its infographic by analyzing the Facebook users who looked up the two presidential candidates and noting their different preferences, in areas including books, brands, celebrities and games, according to Rob Leathern, chief executive officer of the company.

The results are below.
