Overview
Feeling unsure or caught off guard in contract negotiations? You’re not alone.
Whether you’re discussing fees, resolving disputes, or protecting your creative rights, negotiation is a critical skill for freelancers — yet it’s rarely taught.
Join us for The Art of Negotiation, a hands-on event co‑hosted by Bloomberg and Pro Bono SG, designed to help you build confidence and practical strategies for navigating contracts.
Moderator Shannon Soon (Bloomberg) will lead a candid discussion with Wang Liansheng (Bih Li & Lee) and Jeremiah Choy (Orangedot Productions), who will share real-world experiences and negotiation insights from the arts sector. Then, test what you’ve learned during a practical workshop facilitated by Bloomberg staff — where you’ll apply skills, exchange perspectives, and gain direct feedback.
This isn’t just theory. You’ll walk away with tips and tactics you can apply immediately in your next negotiation.

		Shannon Soon
Shannon is a Singapore-qualified lawyer. At Bloomberg, Shannon focuses on negotiating and managing commercial agreements for Bloomberg’s range of products. She works closely with the Sales and Product teams internally, and with clients externally, bringing deals over the line with minimal fuss and maximum high fives. She likes to think of her team as the frontliners, the ones who wade into tricky conversations first and aim to reach solutions without sequel meetings.
Prior to joining Bloomberg’s Legal Negotiations team, she practised in commercial litigation and later held in-house roles at various international banks. Her experience spans a range of commercial matters, including dispute resolution and contract negotiation. These days, she has traded courtrooms for conversations and enjoys working at the intersection of people, business and creative problem-solving.
