Athanasios Psarofagis, is an ETF analyst for Bloomberg Intelligence. Prior to joining Bloomberg, he held roles in ETF groups at OppenheimerFunds and IndexIQ. Before that, Athanasios was in product development at Nasdaq. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Connecticut.

Chris McHaney is the Executive Vice President, Head of Investment Management and Strategy at Global X Investments Canada Inc. Chris is an experienced investment professional with a deep understanding of the ETF industry and ecosystem in Canada, with more than twenty years of experience covering portfolio management, investment strategy and policy, product development, and sales. Prior to joining Global X, he served as BMO Global Asset Management’s Director, Portfolio Manager, where he oversaw the management of both passive and active strategies, derivative overlays, foreign exchange exposures and cross-asset portfolios. Chris holds an Honors Business Administration degree from York University’s Schulich School of Business and is a CFA charterholder.

Greg Walker is MD, ETFs and Structured Solutions at BMO Global Asset Management.

Before re-joining BMO in 2021, Walker was head of institutional ETF sales for Vanguard Investments Canada Inc. and global head of ETF distribution at RBC Capital Markets. He also served as executive vice-president and head of institutional and national accounts at Evolve ETFs and was head of iShares business development at BlackRock Asset Management Canada

Greg started his career at Bank of Montreal and has held various investment roles including high yield debt analyst and portfolio manager in a fixed income investment management group specializing in credit risk assets.

Mr. Walker earned an HBA in economics and financial management from Wilfrid Laurier University. He is a CFA® charterholder and has held positions on a number of investment industry boards, including the Buy-Side Investment Management Association (BIMA), Women in Capital Markets and the Canadian Securities Traders Association. Greg is also a member of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada’s (IFIC) ETF Committee.

Mr. Rashid covers institutional clients on the ETF Sales and Strategy desk at TD Securities. Mr. Rashid advises pensions, asset allocation teams and family offices on ETF strategies, publishes a broad array of ETF publications, and works with TD’s ETF market making team in facilitating ETF orders. He joined TD Securities in 2021, and previously held various ETF roles at Invesco, a global investment manager. Hussein has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Toronto and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Miguel Alvarez oversees the strategy and development of capabilities for Bloomberg’s ETF primary market service offering; BSKT. With a career spent in both the ETF primary and secondary markets, Mr. Alvarez is focused on leveraging Bloomberg’s product solutions to improve efficiencies in the ETF primary market workflow.

Prior to joining Bloomberg in November 2022, Mr. Alvarez was a director at the Bank of New York Mellon, serving as ETF product manager. During his tenure, he helped deliver functionality and market research with a particular focus on the ETF primary market. In addition, Mr. Alvarez provided insights to new entrants in the ETF marketplace on the best approach in coming to market.

Nick Singh is a member of the Canadian iShares Capital Markets team. Nick is responsible for managing external capital markets relationships with Broker/Dealers, Market Makers, and exchanges; oversee capital markets involvement on product development initiatives; provide guidance to clients on accessing ETF liquidity; and liaise with internal BLK investment teams and external services providers. Nick joined BlackRock in 2018, prior to that he held various positions within RBC Capital Markets, most recently as a futures trader within FICC. Nick has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo.

Managing Director, Global Equity Derivatives

Patrick is Co-Head of Institutional Sales for ETFs, Portfolio Trading, Electronic Trading, and Equity Derivatives. He also heads up the Electronic Trading & Services group, which offers DEA and algorithmic trading strategies to institutional clients. He has over 25 years of trading experience.

Prior to NBF, he was with ITG Canada as a Director in their electronic brokerage group and headed up their Commission Management Services. He spent his formative years in Montreal at boutique global investment dealer Pavilion Global Markets where, as the Head of North American Equity Trading, he was instrumental in developing their portfolio trading capabilities in both Canada and the U.S.

He has been actively involved in shaping the Canadian regulatory environment through regular participation in industry comment letters and contributions to advisory committees like MSAC, MRAC, and as current co-chair of the CSTA’s Trading Issues Committee. He is a sitting member of NBF’s Best Execution Committee, which is mandated to ensure best practices in trading for all NBF client flow.

Patrick is a CFA and went to most of his classes at the University of Western Ontario.

Vlad attended the University of Toronto, earning his Bachelor of Commerce from the Rotman School of Management, and joined Purpose upon its inception in 2013 – first as VP and Head of Product and now as Head of Asset Management, Institutions and Investors.

Before joining Purpose, Vlad was an analyst at Claymore Investments, working on a broad range of initiatives, including product development, marketing, sales and operations. Upon BlackRock’s acquisition of Claymore, he became a Vice President at BlackRock’s Toronto office.

He was a recipient of the UofT Arbor Award in 2012.
