Albert Cheung is Chief Executive Officer of BloombergNEF, a strategic research provider covering global commodities and the energy transition. He previously served as BNEF’s Deputy CEO and Head of Global Transition Analysis until 2026, overseeing the firm’s coverage of clean energy, transport, industry, technology, agriculture and sustainable finance.
Albert has nearly two decades’ experience in the energy transition, having joined BloombergNEF in 2009 and later held a number of leadership positions in the organization, within both research and product management. He is an internationally recognized leader and expert in the energy transition.
Albert is an engineer by training and holds a BA and MEng in Electrical and Information Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
David Hostert
Global Head of Economics & Modelling

David Hostert is the Global Head of Economics & Modeling at BloombergNEF, where he serves as the organization’s chief economist. Based in London, he leads BNEF’s work on energy and climate scenarios and is the lead author of the New Energy Outlook (NEO), the firm’s flagship annual analysis of long-term pathways for the global energy economy. His teams produce independent, credible scenarios grounded in real-world sector and country transitions across electricity, industry, buildings and transport through 2050.
David has held several key leadership roles over his tenure at BNEF. He previously served as Head of Research for Europe, overseeing policy, carbon, power and gas analysis, and earlier led the global wind energy research team. David holds an MPhil in Environmental Policy from the University of Cambridge and a BA in Philosophy and Economics from the University of Bayreuth.
Antonio Barroso
Geoeconomics Lead, Europe

Antonio is the Europe Geoeconomics Lead, based in Geneva. He is also an adjunct professor at Science Po in Paris. Previously, he co-launched the geopolitical risk unit of consulting firm Teneo and worked as a Senior Analyst at Eurasia Group. He holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Aleksandra O’Donovan
Head of Electric Vehicles

Aleksandra O’Donovan is Head of Electric Vehicles at BloombergNEF. She is responsible for the coverage of the global electrified transport markets, and specializes in the analysis of the electric vehicles sales trends, infrastructure development and changing policy environment.
Aleksandra has been with BloombergNEF since 2008, and prior to her role in the Advanced Transport team she has lead research focused on global biomass-to-power, waste-to-energy and biofuels markets.
Aleksandra finished her Master’s degree in Sustainable Technologies at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. She also holds a BSc in Environmental Protection and Management from the Gdansk University of Technology, Poland.
Andrew Grant
Head of Intelligent Mobility

Andrew Grant leads BloombergNEF’s global Intelligent Mobility research team, which produces research, datasets and long-term outlooks on shared mobility services and autonomous vehicles. Andrew is also an author and the lead modeler of BNEF’s annual “Long-Term Electric Vehicle Outlook”. Based in London, U.K., Andrew holds MSc Applied Economics and Bachelor of Business Science in Economics degrees from the University of Cape Town.
