Overview
Join the Federal Government of Brazil and Glasgow Financial Alliance For Net Zero (GFANZ) for the launch of the Brazil Climate & Ecological Transformation Investment Platform (BIP).
BIP is a first-of-its-kind initiative, based in partnerships designed to advance Brazil’s ambitious development and climate goals, and is led by the Brazilian Ministry of Finance, together with the Ministries of Environment and Climate Change, Mines and Energy, and Development, Industry, and Foreign Trade. The platform seeks to scale and optimize investments to the implementation of ecological transformation and climate plans from all sources across selected sectors, with an emphasis on driving investment from the private sector towards key projects. The Brazilian Government also views this platform as a key deliverable for both its G20 presidency and its forthcoming COP30 presidency.
BIP builds on a partnership announced in February 2024 between GFANZ and the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) to help scale public and private transition investment, integrate existing pathways and initiatives, mobilize capital at scale, and ensure effective resource deployment to further the Brazilian government’s ecological transformation plan and sectoral and climate ones. The Platform Secretariat will be led by BNDES and supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Green Climate Fund (GCF), with GFANZ serving as private sector finance partner.
This invitation is non-transferable and invite only.
