**NOTE: This month’s Cornell Tech @ Bloomberg event will be hosted at Bloomberg’s 120 Park Avenue office. Please check the “WHEN & WHERE” section below for details.**

Bloomberg, Cornell Tech, and Tech:NYC invite you to join us for the latest installment of the Cornell Tech @ Bloomberg Speaker Series, featuring Molly Fowler, General Partner at Dorm Room Fund, in conversation with Sonali Basak, lead global finance correspondent for Bloomberg TV and anchor for “Bloomberg Open Interest.”

Molly Fowler is the founding partner of Dorm Room Fund (DRF), the country’s original student venture fund, which became an independent entity after spinning out from First Round Capital in 2021. DRF focuses on investing in student-led startups, working alongside student teams at top entrepreneurship campuses across the country to back student and recent-graduate founders at their earliest stages.

When DRF launched in 2012, its $20,000 check was a revolutionary move. Now, student entrepreneurship is a vibrant part of the tech ecosystem, especially in New York — and DRF was one of the earliest shapers of this movement. Since its inception, DRF has supported more than 400 undergraduate, MBA, masters’, and Ph.D. founders – including both recent graduates and dropouts.

DRF now provides between $40,000-$150,000 in initial funding to student entrepreneurs, along with support, mentorship, and access to a network of investors, operators, and experts. Under Fowler’s leadership, the fund has helped its portfolio companies raise billions in follow-on capital from leading venture capital firms.

We hope you’ll register for the opportunity to join us for this timely conversation, in which Fowler will discuss the unique challenges and opportunities faced by student founders, the evolution of DRF from its origins within First Round Capital to its current independent status, and the future of early-stage investing.
