Speakers
Dr. Jianing Yu
Dr. Jianing Yu (George), Ph.D. in economics, associate professor, digital economist, expert on blockchain, metaverse and Web3, and the initiator of the concept of “industrial blockchain”. He has been hailed as “a leader in cultivating blockchain thinking” by China Weekly, and has compiled classic books such as Metaverse (Translation into six languages) and China Blockchain Industry Development Report. Dr. Yu has served as the Director of the Institute of Industrial Economics of the Information Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.
Ciara Sun
Ciara Sun is the founder and managing partner of C² Ventures, a chain-agnostic blockchain investment company focuses on empowering builders to build and scale the next generation of Web3 applications.
Prior to founding C² Ventures, Ciara was the Vice President of Huobi Group. She was the spokesperson of the company and led the global business development, global markets, institutional business unit, partnership, blockchain project listings, incubation and investments department.
As a leading female leader in the blockchain space, Ciara is constantly invited to prominent global events and also coined as the Female Asian Global Crypto Leader by her 200k followers on Twitter. She is a strong advocate of gender equality and has founded an NGO Women Who Crypto.
Michael Elko
A 17-year Hong Kong financial services industry veteran, Michael Elko is currently the Head of Market Specialists in Hong Kong at Bloomberg L.P. In this role, Michael contributes to the development of Bloomberg’s equity & digital asset product and sales strategies.
Prior to Bloomberg, Michael began his career within equities at Credit Suisse, where he worked within a leading quantitative analysis platform, HOLT and in equities sales. Since coming to Bloomberg in 2017, Michael worked in sales development across portfolio analytics, index and enterprise sales divisions prior to taking his current role.
Michael graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Finance and International Business. He is an active member philanthropy community, in particular the American Club Foundation of Hong Kong.
