Angela is a research scientist at Facebook AI Research Paris focusing on machine translation. Previously, Angela did a PhD at INRIA Nancy and FAIR Paris on text generation. Before that, she was a research engineer and received a Bachelor’s degree in statistics at Harvard.

Ed Ludlow is the San Francisco-based co-host of Bloomberg Technology, the only daily news show focused exclusively on tech and innovation. Ludlow is also a correspondent, reporting and writing for Bloomberg News across Tech, supply chains, deals and finance.

Since moving to San Francisco in 2018, Ed has covered a wide-range of topics from Silicon Valley to the automotive industry and consumer technology. Dr. Sherry Marcus is the Director of Applied Science of Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Titan at Amazon Web Services (AWS) where she is building the next generation of AI generative models and pipelines. Sherry is a recognized leader in AI/ML and works with multi-national companies across all domains to accelerate and amplify their AI/ML business objectives. Recent speaking engagements and keynotes include Sloan Sports Analytics Conferences, AWS World AI Summit, and Big Data and AI San Jose Expo.

Prior to Amazon, Sherry held a variety of C-level and senior positions, including:

• Managing Director and head of the Blackrock Artificial Intelligence Labs, where she developed quantitative science solutions for trading and investment businesses
• Chief Data Analytics Officer at Millennium Partners (MLP) where she led the development of integration of the AWS public cloud initiative in the delivery of next-gen analytic artifacts to the business
• Global Head of Big Data Analytics at Credit Suisse where she created solutions that merged private banking, communication, and news data for client analytics, and developed solutions in support of prime services

In addition to her work in the financial field, Sherry held senior mission-critical roles in the intelligence community and the Department of Justice. She led a series of highly successful, scalable analytics solutions in support of national missions in counterterrorism, counternarcotics, counterintelligence, and naval surface warfare. Sherry received the technical medal of excellence from the Central Intelligence Agency.

Sherry is active in the AI/ML community and serves on a variety of boards, including as a founding member of the science board at the National Counterterrorism Center, advisory board member of the Allen Institute, and member of Carnegie Melon University Computational Finance Advisory Board and the New Jersey Institute for Data Sciences Advisory Board.

Sherry holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Mathematics and a B.A. from Cornell University. She has authored and co-authored more than 40 papers in nationally recognized journals, including JACM and Communications of the ACM.

When not creating the next AI generative models, Sherry enjoys solving the New York Times crossword puzzle, doing Pilates, and listening to math and computer science lectures.

Caroline Hyde co-hosts Bloomberg Television’s “The Close,” and “What’d You Miss?” from New York. She has also served as the network’s chief European correspondent, traveling the region to report on the most important business, technology, economic and political issues shaping global markets. Notable interviews include Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, Airbnb co-founder Nathan Blecharczyk, SAP CEO Bill McDermott and founder of the World Wide Web Tim Berners-Lee.

Previously Hyde co-hosted “Bloomberg Markets” from London and was the European Technology and Media correspondent for “Bloomberg Technology.” She has also served as the network’s chief European correspondent, traveling the region to report on the most important business, economic and political issues shaping global markets.

Hyde joined Bloomberg in 2008 to cover the European debt markets for Bloomberg News as a corporate finance reporter, focusing on company loans and bonds as well as sovereign debt. She covered the freeze in the European loan market following the collapse of Lehman Brothers and the unraveling of the European sovereign debt crisis, as well as breaking news on the sales and performance of government bonds from Greece ahead of its bailout. Hyde has also provided in-depth reports on the London property sector, tech scene and shone a light on the European start-up community.

Prior to joining Bloomberg, Hyde worked in public relations for London’s Moorgate Group, where she was a debt market specialist, managing campaigns for clients including Standard & Poor’s and Lloyds Banking Group. She holds an MA (Oxon) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University.

Vijay Karunamurthy is currently Head of Engineering at Scale AI, where he is enabling Scale’s mission to democratize AI to help business, governments and organizations see its full potential. Previously he was a Director of Engineering at Apple, where he worked on scalability, personalization and ML research for the App Store, TV+, Apple Watch and more. Prior to Apple, Vijay led Search and Discovery engineering teams at YouTube, and cofounded (with Steve Chen and Chad Hurley) startups focused on live video and content discovery (acquired by Apple and BlueJeans Network.)

Anurag Rana is the Sector Head and Senior Equity Analyst for Software and IT Services at Bloomberg Intelligence since 2010. He covers large-cap stocks including Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Salesforce.com, Workday, VMware, Adobe, Shopify, IBM, Accenture, Capgemini, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys and Cognizant. Mr. Rana has covered the IT and Business Services sector since 2003 and was a Senior Analyst at KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc., prior to Bloomberg. Before that, he was with KeyCorp’s risk management division focusing on market risk review for its Capital Markets group. Mr. Rana earned his MBA from SUNY Buffalo and his BS in physics from the University of Delhi.

Dr. Yacine Jernite leads the ML and Society team at Hugging Face, where they work on ML systems governance. Their work to date has focused on NLP and multimodal models and data curation, documentation, and governance. Their recent projects have included co-organizing the BigScience workshop on large language models as data area chair and looking at the intersection of ethical, technical, and regulatory aspects of ML.

Brian Venturo is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of CoreWeave, a leading specialized cloud provider of large-scale, GPU-accelerated workloads. At CoreWeave, Brian works directly with clients, engineers, and partners to build unmatched compute infrastructure for the most demanding artificial intelligence, machine learning, and visual effects applications. Prior to CoreWeave, Brian was a Partner at Hudson Ridge Asset Management where he developed and ran a systematic fundamental trading strategy focused on U.S. natural gas and power. Before that, Brian was a Portfolio Manager at Natsource Asset Management. He is based in New Jersey and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Haverford College.

Romaine Bostick co-hosts Bloomberg Television’s “The Close” from New York. Additionally, Bostick helps lead cross-asset financial market coverage across all Bloomberg News platforms.

Prior to joining Bloomberg Television, Bostick helped foster and manage the Bloomberg terminal’s TOPLive blogging platform as a newsroom editor.

With a background covering corporate finance, mortgage-backed securities and government policy, Bostick orchestrated newsroom coverage of seminal events, including: the 2002 Tyco CEO scandal; the dawn of credit-default swaps; the 2007-08 financial crisis; the 2012 Affordable Care Act implementation; and the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

Bostick also spearheaded a data mining project on more than 45,000 companies globally to monitor anomalies in earnings and cash flow trends.
