The Extra Mile
The Bloomberg Square Mile Relay “Extra Mile” programme launched in 2017 and was a new initiative to help fund local projects in each city where the race is held and to create a volunteering day for all race participants and Bloomberg employees. This programme reinforces Bloomberg Square Mile Relay’s commitment to giving back to the communities where each race takes place, and fulfils the desire to leave a legacy in each city.

Extra Mile Project
The AirMazing Race with local students is a competition and scavenger hunt in which teams work through assigned challenges throughout the city and learn about various air pollution issues facing Hong Kong.

5:30-5:45pm Opening – Welcome & Briefing

7:00-7:15pm Close of Checkpoints, Return to Central Piers
7:15-7:30pm Closing – Announcement & Award Presentation
Charity
Clean Air Network (CAN) is an independent NGO that encourages the public to speak out about the health impacts of air pollution. Through community engagements, CAN aims to create a cleaner air environment for the next generation by fostering community cohesiveness and raising awareness regarding the impact of air quality on public health in Hong Kong.
