Overview
Join us at Bloomberg’s Engineering office in New York City for our first Jupyter Open Studio Day of 2023.
Monday, August 28, 2023
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (EDT)
Breakfast and lunch will be provided
You can expect the familiar format of “office hours” with core developers, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with others to explore ideas and approaches related to the Jupyter ecosystem.
Demos, code, UI sketches, bug fixes, paper prototypes, documentation, conversations, and ideas are all valuable and valid forms of participation. You will have the opportunity to share what you’ve been working on via “Lightning Talks” at the end of the day.
Here are some examples of the kind of work you may want to do:
- Write your first JupyterLab extension or your first Jupyter widget
- Brainstorm UI/UX design improvements for the Jupyter interface
- Push forward on a Jupyter customization for internal use
- Propose and test new JupyterLite features
- Brainstorm ways to on-ramp new users – what approaches are missing?
- Start a new language kernel or improve an existing one
- Research and document some aspect of the user experience across similar tools
- Integrate with some other tool (web browser plugin, Git commit hook, etc.)
- Fix bugs or improve documentation in one of the Jupyter-related projects
We hope you can join us!
