Jupyter Open Studio Day – July 1, 2022

Join us at Bloomberg’s San Francisco engineering office for our first Jupyter Open Studio Day in three years.

You can expect the familiar format of “office hours” with core developers as well as collaborating with others on exploring ideas and approaches related to the Jupyter ecosystem.

Demos, code, UI sketches, bug-fixes, paper-prototypes, documentation, conversations, and ideas are all valuable and valid forms of participation. You will have the opportunity to share what you’ve been working on via “lightning talks” at the end of the day.

Examples of the kind of work you may want to do:

• write your first JupyterLab plugin or your first Jupyter widget
• brainstorm UI/UX design improvements for the Jupyter interface
• push forward on a Jupyter customization for internal use
• propose and test new JupyterLite features
• brainstorm on-ramping new users – what approaches are missing?
• start a new language kernel or improve an existing one
• research and document some aspect of the user experience across similar tools
• integrate with some other tool (web browser plugin, git commit hook, etc.)
• fix bugs or improve documentation in one of the Jupyter-related projects
