Bloomberg, Cornell Tech, and Tech:NYC invite you to join us for the latest installment of the Cornell Tech@ Bloomberg series, featuring Anthony Casalena, founder and CEO of Squarespace, in conversation with Scarlet Fu of Bloomberg Television.

15 years ago in his college dorm room, in an effort to create a platform for his own website, Anthony Casalena started building what would become Squarespace. What began as a personal project borne from his dissatisfaction with existing web publishing platforms has since grown into a service used by two million people and businesses — from Keanu Reeves to Lyft — to design, create, manage, and host their websites.

Squarespace took outside investment in 2010 from Accel and Index Ventures to accelerate its growth, ushering in a new phase of the company’s history, complete with celebrity endorsements and Super Bowl commercials. Now, with 50% year-over-year revenue growth in 2017, the company reportedly raised a $200 million funding round this past December that valued it at $1.7 billion, which will allow Squarespace to expand its e-commerce and international offerings.

Casalena and Fu will cover the evolution of Squarespace — along with your questions — in their wide-ranging discussion.
